After gunshots heard at a home, multiple arrests made

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Sunday, March 22 at 1:38 p.m., deputies assigned to the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station responded to the area of Allen Avenue and Twentynine Palms Highway in the unincorporated area of Wonder Valley after getting a report of gunshots heard.

During the investigation, deputies attempted to contact the residents of a home in the 6200 block of Allen Avenue. While on the scene, a stolen off-road motorcycle was discovered. A search warrant was authored and executed on the property.

During the search warrant service, three people were located hiding inside the home. Erik Edwards (40) and John Pratt (39), both of Twentynine Palms, were found to have active warrants for their arrest. During the search, deputies recovered two stolen off-road motorcycles, multiple firearms, and ammunition.

Edwards was arrested for resisting an executive officer, felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of ammunition. Pratt was arrested for operating a chop shop, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and receiving stolen property. Pratt and Edwards were booked at the Morongo Basin Jail.

Kayla Shrewsbury (31 of Twentynine Palms) was arrested for resisting and obstructing an officer. Shrewsbury was released at the scene.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
