Suspicious package sends bomb squad to post Post Office

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Friday, February 21 at about 10:22 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department - Morongo Basin Station, were dispatched to the Twentynine Palms Post Office at 73839 Gorgonio Drive after receiving a report of a suspicious package in front.

Deputies immediately evacuated the area and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Bomb Squad were called to assist with the investigation. Members of the Bomb Squad confined the suspicious device and rendered it safe without further incident.

Anyone with information related to the investigation, is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Morongo Basin Station at (760)366-4175.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
