January 11, 2020

NEEDLES, Calif – On Thursday, January 9 at about 7:03 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to a domestic violence call in the 1500 block of Lillyhill Drive. When deputies arrived and contacted the victim, the suspect, later identified as Rustin Hill (age 29 of Needles), ran into his residence and barricaded himself inside.

The victim reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend, Rustin Hill and forced out of a residence against her will. The victim ran to a near-by apartment for help where she was dragged out of that apartment by the suspect.

Numerous attempts were made to get Hill to exit the residence. The Sheriff's Specialized Enforcement Division (SWAT) was enroute to the scene when the suspect finally responded to the repeated announcements and exited the residence without incident. Hill was arrested and booked into the Colorado River Station jail for PC 207 Kidnapping and PC273.5(a) Spousal Abuse. Hill is being held on $50,000 bail pending a court hearing.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact Deputy N. Yates or Detective B. Abell at the Colorado River Station at (760) 326-9200.
