Wanted suspects arrested in stolen car

NEEDLES, Calif – On Tuesday, December 10 at 1:23 a.m., Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Needles Police Department, located a blue Chevy truck on J Street near Bailey Ave. The truck had been reported stolen and deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Coronado and El Monte Streets.

The driver, Mariah Hernandez (age 23 of Needles), was taken into custody without incident. Gabriel Moore (age 32 of Apple Valley), the passenger ran from the vehicle. Moore was captured moments later and taken into custody. Both suspects had outstanding felony warrants. During the investigation deputies also located an illegally possessed loaded firearm belonging to Gabriel Moore.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with CVC 10851(a), possession of a stolen vehicle from Hertz Rental. Moore was also charged with PC29800(a)(1), felon in possession of a loaded firearm and a no bail warrant for violation of the terms of his Post Release Community Supervision. Both suspects were booked at the Needles Jail.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
