Attempted car theft at car wash

BLYTHE, Calif – On Monday, December 9 at about 3:48 p.m. Blythe Police Dispatch received a 911 call from a man reporting that a black male adult had just tried to steal his car and is currently trying to steal a young woman’s car at Salinas’ Car Wash. Officers from the Blythe Police Department arrived and were directed to a black male adult running away from area.

Officers contacted and detained the subject who was identified as, 36-year-old Torrance Williams from Miami, Florida. During the investigation Officers learned that Torrance approached two individuals at the car wash and attempted to steal their vehicles, but was unsuccessful.  Williams was arrested and booked into the Blythe Jail on several felony charges.
