BLYTHE, Calif – On Wednesday, October 9 at about 5:41 p.m. the Blythe Police Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a traffic accident at the intersection of Hobsonway and Broadway. Officers from the Blythe Police Department arrived and found that three vehicles had been involved in the accident.
The vehicles involved were a white 2017 Cadillac CTS, a white 2016 Jeep Wrangler and a black 2005 Nissan Altima. The drivers of the Cadillac and the Jeep were contacted at the scene. The driver of the black Nissan Altima had fled the scene on foot before Officers arrived.
During the investigation Officers learned that the white Cadillac was traveling eastbound on Hobsonway approaching Broadway with a green light. The white Jeep was stopped at the red light facing northbound on Broadway at Hobsonway. The black Nissan was traveling westbound on Hobsonway. The black Nissan failed to yield the right of way and turned left in front of the Cadillac causing the collision. The black Nissan then collided with the Jeep on the south side of the intersection. The Cadillac and the Nissan sustained major damage and the Jeep drove away with minor damages.
Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
