Stabbing at Mesa Verde Valero

MESA VERDE, Calif About 10:55 P.M., Sheriff's units responded to the Valero Gas Station located at 13015 Mesa Drive in the unincorporated area known as Mesa Verde, regarding a possible stabbing. Deputies arrived and located the wounded victim lying on the ground in the parking lot. A companion of the victim named Jerry Michael Harvey Jr. was also on scene standing a few feet away.

Based on initial statements, it was determined that Harvey was the primary suspect in the stabbing. The victim was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment and is currently in stable condition. Harvey was booked into the Blythe Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
