Science Fair Final Results

BLYTHE, Calif – Six winners from the Palo Verde Valley USD Science Fair will be traveling to the RIMS (Riverside, Inyo, Mono and San Bernardino Counties) Science Fair for judging. The RIMS competition was held recently with winners going on to compete on April 3 and 4.

Best of Show and 5th Grade overall went to Alyssa Mott. Tatianna Sampson took 6th Grade Overall with TJ Miller taking 4th Grade Overall. Also going to the RIMS Science Fair will be Faith Love; a 5th grader with a project entitled “How to Clean Up Oil Spills and Protect Natural Habitats. David Browning, a 6th grader won a place with a project entitled “Ph vs. Ph.” Hayden Atchley, a 4th grader will also be going for his project entitled “Picky Pups.”

Mrs. Sharon Sanchez, a 6th Grade teacher at Ruth Brown once again oversaw and supervised the project completion and judging at the St. Joan of Arc’s Community Center. There were 310 projects entered at the three elementary sites from grades 1-6. From these sites, 151 projects from grades 4-6 went on to the district science fair. About 200 students participated in the district science fair. At the end of the program, a number of 1st place winners were called onto the stage to give their projects to the new manager of the Colorado River Fair to be placed on display for the public at that time.
