BLYTHE, Calif The organizers of tomorrows rally, scheduled for Quechan Park (see Protest Rally at Quechan Park Saturday), had been postponed. The organizers say on their Facebook page that there was an undue burden placed on them when the City of Blythe P.D. called for a million dollar liability waiver and a permit just two days before our event.

They say they could have moved forward, because the Quechan Tribal Authorities were willing to accommodate their efforts on Native American protected territory. That however, fear and intimidation won out this time with many of the participants coming from Arizona, now too afraid to come for fear of retaliation or arrest by police.

It still looks like a tort claim and potentially litigation against the City of Blythe is in the works.
