Prowler Caught on N. 10th Street

BLYTHE, Calif – On Wednesday August 15 at a few minutes after midnight, Blythe Police officers responded to a call from a neighbor in the 600 block of North 10th Street, who reported a person jumping the back fence into his neighbor’s yard.

The reporting party told dispatch that he could hear noises coming from the neighbor’s yard. When officers approached the rear fence, the subject fled west through the yard and onto 10th Street, where he encountered additional officers who were approaching the front of the residence. A short foot pursuit followed, and the subject was apprehended in the front yard of a residence located across from the victim’s residence.

The subject was identified as Richard Courter, 19, of Blythe. Courter was positively identified at the scene, and arrested. He faces charges of Trespassing and Prowling.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
