Possession, Transportation & Driving Under a Controlled Substance

BLYTHE, Calif Ė On Tuesday, April 10 at 6:19 in the morning, Blythe Police responded to the area of the 200 block of N. Lovekin regarding a person driving a green vehicle and who appeared to be intoxicated.

On arrival a green 2000 Subaru was found leaving the parking lot of the EZ Mart on North Lovekin. It left southbound and officers followed. They noticed it was swerving left to right. They stopped the car on Hobsonway and in talking to the driver, 21 year old Kai-Tseng Jen from Santa Cruz, the officers could smell a strong odor of Marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. Jen also displayed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol and or marijuana.

He was administered a set of field sobriety tests which he failed. He was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. During a search of Jenís vehicle over two pounds of marijuana and over one hundred pills of Oxycodone Hydrochloride were found. All items found are a controlled substance.

Jen was later booked into the Blythe jail for possession of marijuana for sales, transportation of marijuana for sales, possession of controlled substance and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
