PVCC Accepting Applications for Vacant Provisional Trustee Position

BLYTHE, Calif Ė Due to the results of the November 6 Palo Verde Community College District election, Palo Verde Community College District is now accepting applications for a vacant Provisional Trustee position.

Due to Ned Hyduke II being elected to serve on the Board of Trustees during the November elections, the Provisional Appointment that Hyduke was unanimously elected to on October 16, 2012 is once again vacant. The Provisional Appointment granted Hyduke the seat that was vacated by Samuel Burton on August 28, 2012.

The selected Provisional Trustees Appointee will hold the board seat until Nov. 4, 2014, the end of the Mr. Burtonís term.

Applications and criteria for Provisional Trustee Appointment are available online at or in person at the Presidentís Office, One College Drive, Blythe.

About the Palo Verde Community College District Board of Trustees

The Palo Verde Community College District Board of Trustees is composed of seven members elected to serve four-year terms. Five of the trustees are elected at large from the part of the District in Riverside County. Two of the trustees are elected at large from the part of the District in San Bernardino County.

The terms of trustees are staggered with elections in odd numbered years. In addition, there is a Student Trustee who is elected by the District's students. The Board of Trustees has responsibility for setting policy, overseeing fiscal stability, and establishing an effective educational program for the students and the community.

The Board meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. The first meeting of each month is a study session.

The Board's business meeting is scheduled for the 4th Tuesday of the month unless some national holiday conflicts with the meeting day of if the Board of Trustees elects to change the date.
