Man Shot & Killed, Police Hunt Underway

BLYTHE, Calif – On Saturday December 1 at about 4:49 in the afternoon, Blythe Police responded to an apartment complex in the 200 Block of N. Palm, after gun shots were heard and a possible person injured. On arrival they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

He was tended to by River Medical staff, and transported to Palo Verde Hospital for further treatment. The man did not survive his injuries according to police. His name is not being released pending formal notification of the family by the Coroner’s Office.

Witnesses described a suspect vehicle which a suspect fled in as being a white “PT Cruiser” type vehicle. The vehicle was located a short time later, and has been held for evidence.

Detectives are actively searching the suspect in this case, identified as Jorge Cazares, age 24, of Heber California. Police warn that Cazares is considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached. Anyone seeing Cazares is asked to contact Blythe Police or their local law enforcement agency.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
