Knife Fight Ends in Arrest

BLYTHE, Calif On Monday, March 26 at 8:38 in the evening, Blythe Police responded to the 100 block of North Second Street regarding an assault with a deadly weapon.

When they arrived, they made contact with 33 year old Jose Cebreros who was bleeding from the head area. An ambulance was called, but Cebreros refused to be transported to the hospital. He stated that during an argument Garnica grabbed a knife and cut him on the right side of his face. They fought for a minute and were separated by friends. Garnica left the area on foot.

After the interview, Cebreros walked to the Palo Verde Hospital for treatment where he was treated and released. His injury was not life threatening.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect was 35 year old Daniel Aguero Garnica who was staying at the Blue Line Motel on Hobsonway. Garnica was contacted his room there and taken into custody. He was later booked into the Blythe jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
