Death at Transient Camp

November 30, 2012

BLYTHE, Calif – On Thursday November 29, just after noon, Blythe Police responded to the open area south of Donlon and Commercial, regarding a person who had been found dead.

When officers arrived, they were contacted by deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, who directed them to a small transient camp hidden in the brush. The body was found lying on a bed in the camp. The deputies had been in the area looking for a person in an unrelated matter, when they found the body.

It appears the death took place several days ago. Due to the condition of the body, a positive identification could not be made at the scene. There were no obvious signs of foul play. The cause of death is not known pending an autopsy.

Anyone with information regarding this case, or any other crime, is urged to contact the Blythe Police Department at 922-6111 or they can give their information anonymously by calling Crime Stop at 921-CARE (2273) or by E-Mail.
