BLYTHE, Calif On April 3 at 11:34 in the morning Blythe Police responded to the 800 block of East Hobsonway regarding a traffic accident. When they arrived, they found 54 year old Clifford Ringwald lying in the street in the eastbound lane of Hobsonway.

Ringwald had minor injuries to his right elbow and complained of pain to his head and right shoulder. Officers who arrived to assist immediately began to render aid. Blythe Ambulance arrived and treated Ringwald, but he refused to be transported to the hospital.

Police learned that Ringwald was riding his bike westbound on Hobsonway in the eastbound lane when he was struck by a dark blue SUV that was pulling out of the parking lot onto the road. The driver, described as a black female, exited her vehicle and checked on Ringwald. She then got back into her SUV and left the area without waiting for law Enforcement to arrive. The investigation is still open pending contact with the driver of the SUV.

Anyone with information about this or any criminal activity is urged to contact the Blythe Police Department at (760) 922-6111. Information can be given anonymously by calling (760) 921-CARE.
