Car Crash at Hobsonway & Broadway

BLYTHE, Calif On Monday June 11 a little after two in the afternoon Blythe Police responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Hobsonway and Broadway. Arriving officers found a white Acura and a blue Ford Focus, which had collided in the intersection. Both vehicles had front end damage.

Initial investigation indicated that the white Acura, driven by Fernando Guerra, 53, of Blythe, was driving northbound on Broadway, and making a turn onto westbound Hobsonway. The blue Ford, driven by Mildred Miller, 86, of Blythe, was driving eastbound on Hobsonway. Both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, and collided.

Units from the Blythe Fire Department responded and assisted with treatment of the drivers. Guerra was treated for a minor injury at the scene. Miller was transported to Palo Verde Hospital by River Medical ambulance for further treatment.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but police stated that no drugs or alcohol were involved.
